Michael Weinberger is board certified in Internal Medicine, Anesthesiology and Pain Medicine. He is an associate clinical professor of anesthesiology at Columbia University where he runs the Pain Management Center at Presbyterian Hospital.
Dr. Weinberger received his medical degree from Columbia University, College of Physicians and Surgeons. He completed residencies in Internal Medicine at St Vincent's Hospital and Medical Center and in Anesthesiology at Columbia Presbyterian Medical Center as well as a fellowship in pain management at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center.
Dr. Weinberger initially practiced at MSKCC as part of the pain management service before joining the staff of Overlook Hospital where he was responsible for establishing a inpatient and outpatient pain and palliative care service. Prior to joining the faculty at Columbia University, Dr. Weinberger served as the medical director of the University Pain Center.
Dr. Weinberger current duties include patient care, teaching in the medical school, house officer training, research and program development. He is active in several local and national organizations related to pain management and frequently speaks on pain related topics. His areas of interest include spine-related disorders, chronic pain management and palliative care.
